Exchange Rates
Self-Catered Accommodation and Services Items (Lift Passes etc.) are priced in €EUR Euros.
For those paying Smitten By Snow in £GBP sterling, any €EUR Euros figure is converted to £GBP Sterling at the applicable exchange rate at time of payment.
Thus, guests within the same party, booking the same Accommodation - or Services - but on different days with different exchange rates - will always pay the same €EUR Euro figure, but may pay a different amount in £GBP sterling.
The balance on the accommodation is to be paid in the same currency as the currency used for the deposit.
Payment
Please always go to the Make Payments Page to make a payment for any item – either Accommodation Balance or Services.
Bank Transfer Transactions:
This is our preferred method of payment as it helps us manage the charges we have to pay for card transactions. To encourage this, for any payments paid for by Bank Transfer (£GBP or €EUR), the name of the guest will be entered in to a prize draw at the end of the season to win 1x the value (for this season) of a 6-day adult La Plagne Ski Pass. Details provided as you go through the Make Payments process.
We appreciate that guests like the peace of mind that comes with the cover provided by using a card for payment. However, with travel insurance in place at the time of booking, you should already be covered for any cancellations etc. Please check your insurance policy.
Bank Transfer, £GBP Sterling. To allow you to set up a payment, our bank details will be provided as you go through the stages on the Make Payments pages. Payments by UK BACS transfer should incur no charge.
Bank Transfer, €EUR Euros. To allow you to set up a Bank Transfer payment, our bank details will be provided as you go through the stages on the Make Payments pages.
Bank Transfer Charges If there are any charges associated with any Bank Transfer, please instruct your bank to apply all charges to your own account. Smitten By Snow must receive the full amount as requested.
Please notify us by email once you have made the Bank Transfer. This allows us to track your payment and confirm to you as soon as the payment is received.
Bank Card Transactions:
Card payments, £GBP Sterling. There is an upper maximum of £5,000 that can be accepted on any single card transaction. If your total is going to exceed this, can you please break the total down to a number of payments, each to an amount that brings each payment to less than the £5,000 limit.
Card Payments, £EUR. Currently these cannot be processed through our website, but contact us and we will forward a €EUR Invoice with a link to allow you to pay securely.
We do not make any additional charges for Bank Card payments.
Purchases on third-party websites in €EUR Euros
For those considering booking through third-party websites for ski items (i.e. pay a €EUR Euros figure directly through a website for ski hire or Lift Passes); please bear in mind that for most UK Card types there is a charge of up to 3% for Foreign Exchange - over and above any other card charges.
Paying for items in resort by withdrawing €EUR Euro cash on a card there may be an additional cash handling charge of up to 3%, plus the 3% Foreign Exchange charge plus interest charged each day for a cash withdrawal. Please check with your Card Provider.
Thus, in most cases, it should be more cost-effective to pre-book Lift Passes etc. and pay for them through the Smitten By Snow website.
Price Match Service
We offer a Price-Match service for Accommodation or Services that are available in Belle Plagne. Please send us a copy of a quote you have received, or a screen-dump of a website offer, and we aim to match it.
